SJ is forced to pay a fine of 159,000 kronor for deficiencies in the night trains between Stockholm and Duved. This is stated by the Swedish Transport Administration in a decision, reports SVT Nyheter Jämtland.

According to the Swedish Transport Administration, toilets or showers were out of order on twenty occasions during the month of September. Each incident cost SJ SEK 5,000.

The temperature in the toilets has also been inadequate. In addition, punctuality has been broken on 21 occasions during September.

The Swedish Transport Administration notes that SJ has breached the train service agreement with the administration due to the shortcomings.

Also in February, the Swedish Transport Administration issued a contractual penalty against SJ, at that time of almost 270,000 kronor for deficiencies in night train services to Jämtland. At that time, it was found, among other things, that around forty toilets were out of order.
