A new train hopping card from SJ makes it easier to have a climate-smart holiday and discover more of Sweden this summer. The train hopping card is valid for unlimited travel for seven, fifteen or thirty days and is valid during the period 14 June – 15 August.

Interest in climate-smart travel has increased significantly in recent years and more and more Swedes now prefer to vacation at home. A good example of the environmentally conscious vacation trend is the increased interest in train hopping. Now SJ is making it possible for more people to experience Swedish gems and on May 31st a train hopping card will be released that can be used for travel on all routes within Sweden where SJ and Tåg i Bergslagen operate. New for this year is that you can choose three different options for your train hopping: 7, 15 or 30 days.

– For someone who has never traveled much by train, but is keen to try it, 15 days may feel like a long time. Seven days may therefore be a better ”first” step, says Eveline Haugaard, product manager for the train commuter card at SJ.

With SJ's new train commuter card, large parts of Sweden, from Umeå in the north to Malmö in the south, will be more accessible to everyone. The cards are heavily discounted compared to buying single tickets, and students and pensioners travel the cheapest of all. The card is personal and is valid for 2 hours of travel on day trains and 2 hours of seating on night trains.

– This card has been in demand among many travelers and we believe that interest in train hopping will be great for many years to come. We are now launching three affordable cards for anyone who is eager to get a good dose of Sweden this summer, says Lava Mahmod, sales manager for the train hopping card at SJ.

SJ's Sweden Train Pass can be purchased at sj.se in the SJ app under the Commuter Tickets tab, at SJ Lounge, SJ Customer Service and SJ retailers.
