Way Out West is once again being visited by the music stars of the future – and it's happening at SJ StudioStage. After an acclaimed first year in 2024, the studio-inspired stage is back with new energy, new form and a new line-up consisting of 15 hand-picked, yet unestablished live acts from across the country.
Behind the initiative is SJ, which has been one of the festival's most loyal partners for over 15 years. With StudioStage, SJ wants to provide space for the next generation of artists to take their first steps in front of a larger audience - right in the heart of the festival.
This year's bookings offer everything from hip-hop and R&B, to indie, punk and rock. The acts move between different expressions, but are united in the ambition to take the next step towards the future.

– SJ StudioStage is our tribute to the creativity that exists in every corner of Sweden. We want to give space to the new and offer a platform for the artists of the future. As part of SJ's concept "For Sweden forward", it feels natural to continue developing our commitment to music during Way Out West, says Claes Lindholtz, Communications Director at SJ.
The stage is not only a place for discovery, but also a living example of how culture and sustainable travel can work together. Just like last year, SJ Prio members will receive exclusive benefits during the festival, including fast track entry and access to SJ's Prio area for coffee, rest and mingling.
Way Out West 2025 will take place August 7–9 in Slottsskogen, Gothenburg. And as in previous years, the Festival Train will depart between Stockholm and Gothenburg on Thursday, August 7. SJ promises a journey beyond the ordinary – with music, surprises and excitement all the way to the West Coast.
