An SJ train en route from Malmö to Stockholm has had to be evacuated after a fire alarm, which has led to a halt in train traffic between Nässjö and Linköping.
– In a locomotive, there are many people who monitor the operation. Some of them indicate that there has been a fire in the locomotive. We have not noticed that it has burned, but we have chosen to be on the safe side so we have evacuated the passengers. says Peter Kraméus, SJ's acting press officer.
– Then the train stops quietly and nicely a few kilometers south of Linköping. There, passengers can change trains and continue towards Stockholm.
262 passengers are now waiting to be evacuated from the train that has stopped south of Linköping.
