
Around a hundred train drivers have resigned from SJ so far this year, Ekot reports.
The reason, according to the union Seko, is that the layoffs are related to a scheduling system that was introduced last year and that gives train staff short notice of the schedule.
SJ is canceling about ten departures every day due to staff shortages. Train drivers that Ekot has spoken to say that employment conditions have deteriorated.
SJ's CEO Monica Lingegård says that SJ is working to ensure that employees have better planning for their schedules.
– We know that it is perhaps the most important component for our employees and we are not good enough there. I can only apologize to our employees, because it is not good enough, says Monica Lingegård.
