SJ is now releasing summer train tickets for sale – earlier in the year than ever.
“We know that many people want to plan their holiday trips as early as possible. That is why we want to offer the tickets as early as possible,” says Sofie Struwe, Director of Commercial Traffic at SJ.
Starting today, January 28, it is possible to purchase tickets for SJ trains within Sweden for the period June 15–September 6, 2026.
SJ has never before released summer tickets in January. In fact, last year's release, which took place in early March, was the earliest summer release SJ has made to date.
– We are constantly working to improve ourselves. Summer tickets are always popular, and now we are making it easier to book them by releasing them at record time, says Sofie Struwe.
Several million tickets
In total, today's ticket release includes just over 19,000 departures.
– If you count from the trains' starting to final stations, that's around five million tickets. But since many people travel shorter distances than that, there are actually even more tickets for sale.
Some departures during the current period are not yet available for purchase because the Swedish Transport Administration is planning for track work. As SJ receives information about how the trains can run, these tickets will also be released.
