The tourist favourite Skansen in Stockholm is to cut staff.
As part of a reorganisation, there will be redundancies. 53 positions are being eliminated, while 29 new ones will be created.
It is stated in a press release that Skansen has for a long time been struggling with increased costs and changes in visitor patterns.
– Neither grants nor revenue are increasing to the extent required to maintain and develop the operations. But we cannot let Skansen fall into disrepair; it's too important a cultural-historical site, so we need to make changes, says Maria Groop Russel, Skansen's CEO.
