Several Skistar employees in Sälen are fired after organizing a party - despite current recommendations, according to SVT Dalarna.

”"A number of employees organized an illegal party that violates both our internal rules and the authorities' recommendations during the ongoing corona pandemic," says Jonas Bauer, destination manager in Sälen, to SVT.

Skistar does not want to say how many employees it involves, but according to information provided to SVT, it involves about ten employees.

”"The consequence was that we agreed with those affected that they were allowed to be dismissed from their employment and leave Skistar. We as employers have acted in a similar way in previous cases, we are doing so now as well and we will do so if it were to happen again," says Jonas Bauer.

In early January, Skistar fired 13 people at the Vemdalen ski resort who had organized a party in one of the staff housing units. According to Skistar CEO Stefan Sjöstrand, the tenant had seriously violated the rules in the contract for the housing unit.
