The number of air passengers at Kastrup in Copenhagen increased significantly in July compared to June. However, it is still a dramatic decrease compared to last summer, the airport states in a press release.
”"The good news is that the number of travelers is increasing. The bad news is that the restart is going very slowly," says Peter Krogsgaard, commercial manager at Kastrup, in the press release.
During July, just under 560,000 passengers passed through the terminals at the airport. This is 81.8 percent fewer than in July last year.
The airport expects a loss of 450–750 million Danish kroner this year and recently announced that 650 employees will be laid off. However, uncertainty ahead of the autumn is great, according to Peter Krogsgaard.
”"The world is so uncertain right now that we are no longer working with forecasts, but with broad scenarios. Our best bet right now is that this year we end up with 30–35 percent of the traffic we had last year," he says.
