During the sports holiday, many people feel an extra desire to travel and take the opportunity to fly to the mountains or ski resorts down on the continent. Keep in mind that there are many people traveling at the same time, arrive at the airport on time and have your documents and packing ready, so you as a traveler will have a better experience. Swedavia has staffed up together with our partners to meet the increased travel and below are five smart tips for a good start to your sports holiday travel.

1. Arrive at the airport on time and check which terminal you are flying from.
Arrive at the airport when your check-in and baggage drop-off opens. You can check the check-in/baggage drop-off conditions for your flight directly with the airline, by downloading the Swedavia app or visiting the Swedavia website under Departures.

Keep track of which terminal your flight departs from so you get to the right place from the start and get a smooth start to your journey. Information about the correct terminal can also be found via the Swedavia app and website.

2. Be ready when you go to security.
If you are travelling with hand luggage only and have checked in digitally, you are welcome to go directly to the security checkpoint. For a smoother passage, you can already remove outerwear and metal objects such as belts with large buckles or jewelry while in the security checkpoint queue, take mobile phones, laptops and other electronic equipment out of your bag and empty your pockets of loose items such as keys or coins.

3. Track your flight in Swedavia's app.
By downloading The Swedavia app You can easily and smoothly keep track of your flight. Via the app, you can subscribe to information about your specific flight and receive ongoing updates about the terminal, waiting time at security, check-in desk, boarding time, and gate.

4. Are you traveling with skis/special luggage?
If you are traveling with skis or special baggage, you will first need to go to your check-in desk to get a tag and then to Special Baggage. Please note that you can only pack one pair of skis per case. You can see how to check in your skis in the video: How to check in your skis

5. Attach your luggage tag correctly at self-check-in.
Some travelers wonder how to attach the luggage tag to the bag during self-check-in. If you are unsure how to do this, please watch the video: How to attach your luggage tag

SAS Ski Charter temporarily moved to Terminal 2 February 25
On Saturday, February 25, SAS ski charter will be moved from Terminal 5 to Terminal 2 for more efficient handling. During the most travel-intensive sports holiday Saturdays, Swedavia will also reinforce the staffing at Arlanda with more terminal attendants and extra employees to help with the handling of skis/special luggage..
