The news that SJ is discontinuing the night train Gothenburg - Jämtland after the 2024/25 winter season means that Snälltåget is now investigating the conditions for night trains from Skåne via Gothenburg to Jämtland.
– In dialogue with the tourism industry and other stakeholders in Jämtland, we want to examine the conditions for running night trains during the winter and summer seasons from Malmö via Gothenburg to Jämtland and vice versa, says Marco Andersson, Commercial Manager for Snälltåget.
Snälltåget has been operating night trains Malmö – Stockholm – Åre – Storlien during the winter and summer seasons since 2007. All Snälltåget departures are operated solely on ticket revenue from passengers, i.e. without any subsidies from the state.
