Heavy snowfall has forced the airport in Geneva, Switzerland, which many people fly to and from to visit the Alps, to close.

The airport has no forecast for how long it will be closed, and is urging passengers not to come there.

Swiss authorities are warning of snowfall in the southwestern part of the country, equivalent to a class 2 warning.
– There is cold air over Central Europe, and underneath it is a little milder. So between those air masses there is a precipitation area, says Lovisa Andersson, meteorologist at SMHI.
