The US Coast Guard has sent out Hercules planes to search the sea surface at the site where the submarine was sunk, and the Canadian Coast Guard has deployed aircraft that use buoys equipped with sonar, writes TT.
Additional rescue ships have been sent to the scene, but it could take several days for them to arrive.
