SAS's information about how much the agreement with the pilots costs the company may be significantly underestimated, sources tell Dagens Nyheter.

SAS's official information is that the three-year agreement with the pilots involves a cost increase of 4.37 percent, but according to DN's sources, it is more likely a double-digit cost increase.

According to an agreement that the newspaper has seen, there is a pot of ten million kronor that will be distributed to all SAS pilots each year. According to the same agreement, many of the pilots will also be entitled to days off and schedules with fewer production days.

”"With reduced working hours, fewer production days and these ten million that are also agreed, we are up over 15 percent," says a source with insight.

Jacob Pedersen, an aviation analyst at Danish Sydbank, tells the newspaper that he was surprised by the low cost increase that SAS reported after the agreement was reached with the pilots.

”"We know of some productivity savings, but we also know that the pilots benefited from this. I would have expected it to be at least double," he says.
