Spain sends emergency aid to Cuba

Remove

Spain will send emergency aid to economically struggling Cuba.

The plan is to provide food and other necessities through UN channels, the Spanish Foreign Ministry announced on Monday, following a meeting between Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares and his Cuban counterpart Bruno Rodríguez in Madrid.

The announcement follows the arrival of two Mexican ships carrying over 800 tons of aid in Cuba last week.

The US tightening its blockade of the communist-ruled country and stopping oil deliveries from Venezuela has deepened the crisis.
