The American low-cost airline Spirit Airlines is being forced to cease operations, reports NBC News.

The company, which flies primarily on domestic routes in the United States, has around 15,000 employees.

Since the pandemic, the company has had financial problems and was in contact with the White House last month about financial support.

The company's website now announces that all flights are canceled and that booked passengers should not travel to the airports.
