”"I have been called to a negotiation on Wednesday afternoon in Skavsta. I believe it concerns cutbacks due to Ryanair moving its base," says Kjell Arbestål, ombudsman for the Transport Workers' Union in Sörmland.
His department organizes around 140 airport controllers, parking attendants and security guards. In addition, there are loaders and other aviation-related personnel at the airport who also belong to the Transport Workers' Union, but who belong to the aviation department. 35 of those with fixed-term contracts will be forced to resign, says Johan Einarsson, ombudsman for the Transport Workers' Union's aviation department.
”"I don't know if any further notices have been given. But we can see that it will be very difficult to run the airport without the fixed-term employees," Johan Einarsson tells TT.
The airline Ryanair announced last fall that its base at Skavsta Airport will be moved, and traffic will be significantly reduced as the summer schedule comes into effect at the end of March.
