The shipping company has chosen to exercise the final option in the agreement with the Chinese AVIC Weihai Shipyard and is building a seventh and an eighth E-Flexer ferry.

These two are intended for operation on Stena Line's route network and planned delivery is during 2022. At the same time, Stena RoRo is adding an option to build four additional E-Flexer ferries at the AVIC shipyard in Weihai.

– We are delighted to be able to order two more E-Flexer ferries from Stena RoRo. We believe in continued growth in the demand for freight capacity in Northern Europe. The new ferries fit very well into the market development we believe in and we are now preparing for continued growth. We have not yet decided which route the two newbuilds will operate on; we will evaluate several different options, says Stena Line's CEO Niclas Mårtensson.
