The ferry company Stena Line will move from Varberg to Halmstad, which means the Varberg-Grenå ferry line will be discontinued and replaced with Halmstad-Grenå.

The new line from Halmstad is estimated to be operational in the latter part of 2019.

The background to the move is that Varberg Municipality is planning to redevelop the Västerport district where Stena Line currently docks. Stena Line has now signed a long-term agreement with Hallands Hamnar to build a new ferry terminal in Halmstad. This is stated in a press release.
