Stena Estrid* is the first in a series of five E-Flexer model ferries that represent the next generation of energy-efficient and flexible RoPax ferries.

Stena Estrid is one of three E-Flexer ferries to enter service on the Irish Sea and is scheduled to enter service between Dublin and Holyhead in early 2020. The following two are planned to enter service on the Liverpool and Belfast route in 2021.

– It feels fantastic that we have reached another milestone in our newbuilding process when Stena Estrid floated for the first time and was successfully maneuvered out of the dry dock. Now an intensive phase of construction awaits when the interior will be in place before she heads towards Europe and the start of traffic on the Irish Sea, says Stena Line's CEO Niclas Mårtensson, who himself was on site at the Avic shipyard in China.
