Just in time for the summer travel boom, Stena Line has carried out an extensive upgrade of the cabins on its ferries between Kiel and Gothenburg. With an investment of several million Swedish kronor, the comfort for travellers has been significantly increased – without affecting ticket prices.

For many, a ferry trip with Stena Line is the most relaxed way to start a holiday. The shipping company is now taking the next step to further improve the onboard experience. This spring, a total of 368 cabins on the Stena Germanica and Stena Scandinavica have received a significant upgrade – with Nordic design, new bathrooms, and improved comfort.

“We want to make the best time of the year as comfortable as possible for our customers. The investment in new cabins offers our travellers a higher standard and greater flexibility, especially for family and group travel. At the same time, we are maintaining our current pricing policy,“ says Mikko Juelich, Trade Director and CEO of Stena Line Germany.

On the Stena Scandinavica, 191 out of approximately 500 cabins have been renovated, and on the Stena Germanica, that figure is 177. The number of three-berth cabins has also been increased, in line with customer demand. The new interior design follows Stena Line's updated design concept, which is now being rolled out across the entire fleet.

“The goal is to create a modern, relaxing environment where the journey becomes part of the holiday – not just the transport to it,“ says Mikko Juelich.
