The Swedish Tourist Association (STF) has now opened STF Visby Harbour Hostel in the old prison in the harbour. After an extensive renovation, guests are welcomed to one of Visby's most well-known landmarks, situated right between the ferry terminal and the city centre.

Since 1 June, the facility has been operated by STF. The property has undergone an extensive renovation this spring, including new beds, new flooring, new paint on the walls, upgraded kitchens and solid wooden furniture in the common areas.
– We are delighted to be able to welcome guests to one of Visby's most special buildings. The combination of the historical heritage and the improvements currently being made creates accommodation with both character and comfort. At the same time, we see this as the start of a long-term investment where, together with the property owner, we will continue to develop the facility in different stages, says Peter Eriksson, head of STF’s accommodation.
The hostel offers 48 rooms and over 100 beds. Most rooms are located in the former prison cells, while there are smaller apartments with their own kitchen and bathroom in the former exercise yard. Guests have access to communal kitchens, several common rooms, and a pleasant courtyard with garden furniture.
The location in the middle of Visby harbour makes the hostel a natural starting point for those who want to discover Visby and Gotland.
