The Stockholm archipelago has once again gained international attention for its new hiking trail Stockholmskärgårdens Pilgrimsvandring as the magazine TIME has named the line as one of World's Greatest Places 2025.
The 270-kilometre trail takes hikers across 20 islands in the Stockholm archipelago, offering a unique combination of scenic experiences and local culture. Along the way, there are opportunities to stay overnight at classic inns such as Utö Inn, where Swedish film icon Greta Garbo was once a guest.
Since its launch in October 2024, the trail has garnered significant international attention. In addition to being highlighted by TIME, the Stockholm Archipelago has also been listed by National Geographic Best of the World 2025 -listed, and highlighted by Good Morning America and the German newspaper WELT, among several others.
