SJ has plans to run direct trains between Stockholm and Trondheim, Norway, when the electrification of the Meråker Line is completed in a couple of years, reports DN.

The Meråker Line – which previously prevented direct trains between the cities – is the section between Trondheim and Storlien. SJ hopes to run both day and night trains.

”"Then we will connect Trondheim, Norway's third largest city, with Jämtland and Mälardalen," says Jan Kyrk, business manager at SJ, to DN.
