The Petter Stordalen-owned hotel Copperhill Mountain Lodge in Åre will close over Easter. This is in connection with the government's directive to limit public gatherings to a maximum of 50 people.
As of today, the government's decision to ban public gatherings of more than 50 people comes into effect. With this, the hotel Copperhill mountain lodge, owned by Petter Stordalen, has now chosen to close its operations over Easter, reports SVT.
”"We are one of the larger players in Åre, so we want to be responsible," says Eva Ottosson Rask to SVT, also saying that several guests have chosen to cancel their stay.
”"Until Easter week, we believe that we can operate a safe and secure business, but during Easter the pressure increases significantly, which means that we assess that we cannot continue to stay open based on the recommendations communicated by the Public Health Agency."”
The business will close on April 5 and is expected to reopen on May 8, when the ski season has subsided. The hotel is offering guests who have a reservation during this time period the option to either reschedule their visit or get a refund, SVT writes.
