Tour operator Unlimited Travel Group's turnover rose to SEK 108 million for the first quarter of 2022 (17.3), while operating profit, measured as EBITA, turned to a positive SEK 1.2 million (-8.6).
”"This is the first time we have had a positive EBITA in the first quarter since 2010," the company notes in the report.
However, the gross margin weakened to 20.5 percent (23.8).
”"If 2020 went down in history as the most challenging year in the group's history, we can say that 2021 is not far behind. But with some relief, we can say that 2022 has begun with a continued very promising development in the booking situation and liquidity for all companies," CEO Jens P. Stenseth writes in the report and continues:
”"At the same time, the booking situation is on par with the record year in terms of sales in 2019. Throughout the pandemic, we have utilized all the opportunities provided by the government's support package. Through our strategy of retaining a sufficient number of employees, we have been well equipped to quickly shift up when the opportunity arose. This has allowed us to take good care of the increase in booking requests we saw during the autumn and which continued in 2022. This has contributed to a positive EBITA for the first quarter, which is normally negative.".
