There will be strong winds in southeastern Sweden over the next 24 hours and SMHI has issued a class 1 warning for stiff gales across the Baltic Sea from Skåne up to Stockholm. The winds are affecting ferry traffic and Destination Gotland has cancelled two departures on Wednesday.
– It is a somewhat unusual wind direction, northeast, and according to forecasts it will blow 20 meters per second. This means that the ship would experience rough seas right on the side, says the shipping company's vice president Henrik Cars to SVT Nyheter Öst. .
It is the midday tours that are cancelled, however, the morning departures will be able to operate as usual.
Even in the Lapland mountains it will be windy and there will also be rain or snow from the west.
