World premiere of this summer's big news in Lisebergsparken – Kraftverket – a dizzying adrenaline party that with its 3.5 G-forces puts passengers to the test from the very first moment. Out of 1600 interested people, 20 brave premiere riders were selected to test Kraftverket before everyone else. Powerful, awesome, close-to-life experience and dizzying were some of the reviews after the first ride.
Many people felt encouraged when Liseberg was looking for brave premiere riders. Over 1,600 people wanted to be the first to ride, and 20 people in the age range of 10–76 were selected for a first ride. They were all allowed to bring a friend, and in addition to the premiere ride, they were offered treats, a specially designed Kraftverket cap, and a full day in the park.
– She told me, Grandma, you screamed but I didn't, says Birgitta Bondeson, who in honor of the day invited her granddaughter Sigrid along for a premiere tour. Worse than the whirlwind, but I feel good and still stand firmly on the ground, laughs Birgitta.
And of course, there were many happy squeals from the 20 gondolas during the ride. The power plant is a nostalgic yet modern nod to Breakdance – a beloved classic that was in the park between 1987 and 1993. The award-winning ”Breakdance 5” model represents the very latest in attraction innovation – it spins like a wild carousel, but each gondola also rotates on its own axis and just when you think you have it under control, it swings again.
–How we have longed for this. The plans for the Power Plant with its perfect location in the middle of the Valkyria curve have been with us since 2016. It feels absolutely fantastic to finally open the Power Plant, says Andreas Andersen, CEO of Liseberg.
