State-owned Swedavia, which owns and operates ten Swedish airports, has signed a loan agreement with the Nordic Investment Bank (NIB) for SEK 500 million.

This is stated in a press release.

The agreement is a so-called "covid-19 response loan", the purpose of which is to facilitate financing for industries that have been severely affected by the corona pandemic. The term of the loan agreement is seven years.

”"The loan helps to further strengthen our liquidity at a time when the Covid pandemic is dramatically affecting both air travel and Swedavia's operations," says Mats Påhlson, Swedavia's CFO, in a comment.

During the period January-October, the number of travelers at Swedavia's airports decreased by approximately 72 percent to nearly 9.5 million travelers.

Traffic was also at low levels in November, with the number of passengers decreasing by 87 percent compared to the same month last year.
