Summer travel continued to develop positively in August. During the month, just over three million passengers travelled via Swedavia's ten airports. This is a total increase in passengers of five percent compared to August 2024.

-August was a strong month and both international and domestic travel increased by five percent compared to the previous year at our ten airports. Stockholm Arlanda had the strongest development with an eight percent increase. It is pleasing that airlines continue to invest in Sweden and Swedavia has strengthened its offering during the summer season by opening an additional 22 new routes, says Jonas Abrahamsson, Swedavia's CEO and Group Chief Executive.

The largest traveler search overall was at Sweden's largest airport, Stockholm Arlanda Airport, followed by Gothenburg Landvetter Airport, Luleå Airport and Umeå Airport.

International passenger growth was greatest at Arlanda, Landvetter and Malmö Airport. Domestic growth was highest at Arlanda, Luleå Airport and Umeå Airport, followed by Åre Östersund Airport.

During the summer season, 22 new flight routes have been opened at Swedavia's airports, of which 15 new routes from Stockholm Arlanda Airport, six new routes from Gothenburg Landvetter Airport and one new route from Bromma Stockholm Airport.

So far this year, Swedavia has welcomed five new airlines, ANA, Animawings, Ajet, SkyAlps and SolaAir, which started a new domestic route from Arlanda to Karlstad on September 1st.

In August, just under 3.3 million passengers traveled through Swedavia's airports, which is an increase of five percent compared to August last year. Both international and domestic travel increased by five percent during the month.

In August, a total of just over 2.4 million passengers traveled through Stockholm Arlanda Airport, Sweden's largest airport. This is an increase of eight percent compared to August 2024. International travel increased by five percent and domestic travel increased by 32 percent. 2.1 million passengers traveled internationally while just over 337,000 traveled domestically.

A total of just over 544,000 passengers travelled via Gothenburg Landvetter Airport, Sweden's second largest airport, in August. This is an increase of three percent compared to travel in August 2024. International travel increased by three percent to just over 506,000 passengers. Domestic travel is at the same level as last year's August and amounted to just over 37,000 passengers.

The other eight Swedavia airports have a varying passenger development in August. Luleå Airport accounted for the largest passenger increase, followed by Umeå Airport and Åre Östersund Airport. Ronneby Airport and Visby Airport had a weaker passenger development compared to August 2024, while Bromma Stockholm Airport continues to have the weakest passenger development as a result of the airlines' new planning with a focus primarily on Stockholm Arlanda Airport.
