In February, a total of just over two million passengers travelled via Swedavia's ten airports, which represents a traffic increase of one percent. International travel continues to increase by one percent, while domestic travel has a weaker trend. As in previous years, the sports holiday had some travel-intensive days from Arlanda, Landvetter and several regional airports. Since the turn of the year, the majority of Stockholm's domestic traffic has been concentrated at Arlanda.
The sports holiday continued to interest travelers both domestically and internationally, and extra charter flights were added via Arlanda to Turin, Salzburg and Grenoble.
A total of just over two million passengers travelled via Swedavia's ten airports during February. This represents a decrease of two percent compared to February 2024. Including the leap year effect in 2024, this represents a traffic increase of the equivalent of one percent.
This corresponds to 75 percent of pre-pandemic levels, 2019. Total international travel increased by one percent while domestic travel decreased by ten percent. At Sweden's largest airport, Stockholm Arlanda Airport, air travel increased overall by just over two percent compared to February 2024.
Stockholm Arlanda Airport had a total of just over 1.5 million passengers in February, which is an increase of two percent compared to February last year and 86 percent of pre-pandemic levels. International travel increased marginally to over 1.2 million passengers while domestic travel was just over 307,000 passengers.
Gothenburg Landvetter Airport had a total of just under 327,000 passengers in February, which corresponds to a marginal decrease compared to February 2024. International travel increased by two percent to 292,000 passengers, while domestic travel decreased by 20 percent to just over 34,000 passengers. In February, passenger levels at Landvetter were at 75 percent of pre-pandemic levels.
Swedavia's other eight airports have seen varying traffic developments. Kiruna Airport and Luleå Airport had the strongest passenger growth compared to February 2024, both of which increased by 12 percent.
The weakest traffic development in February compared to last year was noted at Bromma Stockholm Airport, due to changes in the traffic program and the airline BRA's collaboration with SAS, which means that BRA has become a subcontractor to SAS at Arlanda.
