During October, just over three million passengers traveled through Swedavia's ten airports, which is an increase of five percent compared to October 2024. The strong trend for international travel continued, but domestic travel also increased during the month.

– During October, we had passenger growth of 5% at Swedavia's ten airports compared to the same month the previous year, and both international and domestic travel contributed to the increase. At Arlanda, growth was just over 9% and the airport had more international passengers than the corresponding month before the pandemic in 2019. This is a statement of strength, which is positive for the development of aviation and Swedish accessibility, says Jonas Abrahamsson, Swedavia's President and CEO.

The increase in international passenger volumes was greatest at Swedavia's major international airports, Stockholm Arlanda Airport, Gothenburg Landvetter Airport and Malmö Airport. At Arlanda, international passenger levels were two percent higher than pre-pandemic levels in October.

After Stockholm Arlanda Airport, the passenger growth for domestic traffic was greatest at Swedavia's regional airports, Luleå Airport and Umeå Airport, followed by Åre Östersund Airport.

In October, just over 3 million passengers travelled through Swedavia's airports. This is an increase of five percent compared to October last year. International travel increased by five percent while domestic travel increased by three percent.

During October, a total of just over two million passengers travelled through Stockholm Arlanda Airport, Sweden's largest airport. This is an increase of 9 percent compared to October last year. International travel increased by six percent while domestic travel increased by 31 percent. Just over 1.8 million passengers travelled internationally while just over 400,000 travelled domestically.

A total of just over 500,000 passengers travelled via Gothenburg Landvetter Airport, Sweden's second largest airport, in October. This is an increase of six percent compared to October last year. International travel increased by seven percent to just under 460,000 passengers. Domestic travel decreased by one percent and amounted to just over 50,000 passengers.

Swedavia's other eight airports had varying passenger development. Luleå Airport had the largest passenger increase, followed by Åre Östersund Airport and Umeå Airport during October. Ronneby Airport and Visby Airport both had weaker passenger development compared to October 2024. Bromma Stockholm Airport continued to have the weakest passenger development due to the airline BRA's closure of scheduled traffic.

New flight routes in October:
Arlanda
Bangkok – Arlanda with Norse
Sharm El Sheik – Arlanda with Norwegian
Skopje – Arlanda with Wizz Air

Landvetter
Porto – Landvetter with Ryanair
Malta – Landvetter with Ryanair
