For the second year in a row, Sweden has the highest reputation in the world.
In the report from the Reputation Institute, Sweden is considered beautiful, transparent and has a friendly population.
A country's reputation influences where people choose to establish businesses, settle or go on holiday. Therefore, high positions in international rankings are very positive, according to the Swedish Institute's Director General Madeleine Sjöstedt.
”"It benefits our ability to attract talent to Sweden, Swedish exports and it benefits ordinary Swedes that it is considered a safe country with high credibility," she says.
The global company interviewed 58,000 individuals in the G7 countries and Russia, the world's largest industrialized economies. Switzerland came in second, followed by Norway and Finland.
Sweden is considered to have a secure rule of law and an effective government. Other measurable factors are that it is considered welcoming, beautiful and the residents have good living conditions.
”"We see that there are several images of Sweden where the very good image of Sweden remains and is stable. There is also another story that is mainly about migration issues, between five and ten percent of it is about that," says Madeleine Sjöstedt.
At the bottom of the list are Iraq, Iran, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
