People arriving in Switzerland from Sweden no longer need to be quarantined upon arrival in the country. Swiss authorities announced this on Wednesday when the list of high-risk countries for the spread of the infection was updated, writes Reuters.
When Swiss authorities today updated the list of countries considered to be at extra risk when it comes to the spread of the coronavirus, Sweden was removed. This means that Swedes no longer have to sit in a ten-day quarantine upon arrival in the country to avoid a fine of 10,000 Swiss francs, equivalent to 95,000 kronor.
In addition to Sweden, Belarus has also been removed from the new list. However, European countries such as Bosnia-Herzegovina, Luxembourg and Montenegro have been added, meaning that the quarantine rules apply to travelers from 42 countries.
Switzerland has currently confirmed 33,800 cases of the coronavirus in the country while 1,700 people have died, according to Reuters.
