Swedes from Kronoberg, Skåne and Blekinge will be allowed to enter Norway without the requirement for self-quarantine, according to the Norwegian Institute of Public Health (FHI).

Norway is slightly easing its restrictions on travel to and from Sweden, the Norwegian Institute of Public Health (FHI) announced at a press conference.

Travel to and from Kronoberg, Skåne and Blekinge is given the green light for Norwegians. Swedes coming from the aforementioned counties are also exempt from the general ten-day quarantine requirement and are allowed to travel freely into the country, FHI confirms to TT.

The new rules apply from July 15.

Travel from Norway to other Swedish counties is advised against, and anyone who does travel can expect to be quarantined upon return. The rules apply until August 20.

Norway's Ministry of Foreign Affairs writes in a press release that the countries that are now approved satisfy the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' requirements for infection spread criteria.

In addition to the three counties in southern Sweden, Norwegians are now also free to travel to Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, the Faroe Islands, Greenland, Greece, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Cyprus, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Germany and Austria.

Swedes from other counties must continue to isolate themselves for ten days when entering Norway. Work trips between Norway and Sweden have previously been exempted from the quarantine requirement.
