The late Easter this year has contributed to many Swedes booking their summer holidays later than usual. At the same time, more than 80 percent of TUI's trips from Umeå Airport are already booked.

“We see that more people are searching for summer trips now than just a couple of weeks ago. Many are comparing different options and looking for the best deals,” says Dian Martinez Valencia, communications manager at TUI.

Tough competition may await late bookers
For travelers who want to fly from their regional airport, TUI urges not to wait too long to book. From the airports in Luleå, Umeå and Skellefteå, more than 80 percent of TUI's charter trips this summer are already booked. From Umeå, TUI offers charters to Rhodes and Crete in Greece as well as the Antalya coast in Turkey this summer.

– The desire to travel remains strong despite the somewhat uncertain economic situation, which means that there may be stiff competition for last-minute trips in some parts of the country. It's important not to have too much ice in your stomach, says Dian Martinez Valencia, communications manager at TUI.
