The Swedish charter operator Airtours is being acquired by the European travel company Sunweb.

”"The pandemic brought changes and openings in the market, which we saw early on as an opportunity to take advantage of. We started looking for a partner and early in that process we realized that Sunweb Group was a perfect fit," writes Stefan Chatzopoulos, one of the founders of Airtours, in a press release.

Sunweb currently operates in seven European markets and is headquartered in the Netherlands. The company is owned by investment company Triton, writes TT.
