Swedish hotels increased their accommodation revenues in July by 32 percent, compared to the same month in 2019. This is stated in a press release from the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce.

The increase occurred mostly outside Stockholm – in the capital, revenues were 25 percent higher than three years ago.

”"The strong trend from last spring has continued. Hotel accommodation revenues have now been higher for four months in a row compared to the corresponding period before the pandemic," says Stefan Westerberg, chief economist at the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce, in the press release.

Total revenue in July was SEK 2.5 billion. This compares to SEK 1.6 billion last year and a modest SEK 1 billion in 2020.

Occupancy in July was essentially the same as before the pandemic: 72 percent.
