Every year, the World Best Restaurant Academy names the world's best restaurants. This year, Disfrutar in Barcelona, Spain, was named the winner at the awards ceremony in Las Vegas on Wednesday evening local time.
There is only one Swedish restaurant on the top 50 list. It is Frantzén in Stockholm, which is now in 35th place. Last year, the restaurant landed in 30th place.
A Scandinavian restaurant is in the top 10. Copenhagen-based Alchemist takes eighth place. Last year they came in fifth place.
The academy consists of over 1,000 members, of which a third are chefs and restaurateurs. The rest are mainly food writers and traveling gastronomes.
