Swedish restaurants' sales volume rose 3.0 percent in December compared to the same month in 2016.
This is evident from statistics that Statistics Sweden has produced in collaboration with Visita, the Swedish Grocery Suppliers Association (DLF) and Svensk Cater.
In current prices, sales increased by 6.5 percent in November compared to the same month last year.
Visita and DLF write in a comment that after a weak third quarter with shrinking sales in volume, sales growth in the restaurant industry picked up during the fourth quarter.
”"From a historical perspective, this is relatively normal growth, but at the same time the lowest growth we have seen since 2009. It is also happening at the same time as the Swedish economy as a whole is growing relatively strongly," write Visita and DLF.
Overall, in 2017, sales volume increased by 1.6 percent year-on-year.
