Several people have died after widespread flooding in southern Thailand. Thousands of people have been evacuated, several media outlets report.
But no Swedish guests at the largest Swedish tour operators Ving, Tui and Apollo have been affected.
– We are following the reports very carefully. We have heard from staff on site that the province of Krabi is affected and we have some guests in the tourist areas along the coast, says Claes Pellvik, communications manager at Ving.
But none of the guests are in affected areas in the province.
– As the weather forecast looks now, there is no danger to our guests. But we will take action if there is any change.
Apollo is also following the development.
”"We are of course following developments and will act if necessary, that is, informing guests," writes Martina Krantz, press spokesperson at Apollo.
TUI also does not have guests in flood-affected areas.
”"We are monitoring the situation closely, and if anything changes, we will contact our guests and advise them to follow the instructions of the local authorities," says Laura Aaltonen, press spokesperson for TUI.
