A SWISS International Air Lines flight between Seoul and Zurich was forced to make an unscheduled landing in Almaty, Kazakhstan, after an incident on board.
The landing was reportedly carried out as a safety measure and the aircraft was able to land without any reported injuries. Passengers were then assisted on site while the airline worked to arrange onward travel to Zurich.
SWISS has not yet provided any details about the exact cause of the unplanned landing, but the incident is said to have been handled according to current safety procedures.
Unplanned landings sometimes occur in the event of medical incidents or technical problems on board and are part of airlines' safety procedures. SWISS has previously had similar incidents in Kazakhstan where flights were forced to cancel flights for safety reasons.
