All trains between Kiruna and Luleå are cancelled in both directions tomorrow.

The train that was supposed to leave Luleå this afternoon has also been canceled.

– It's so extremely cold, it's expected to be below minus 35 degrees. For safety reasons, you can't run the trains then, you're running in uninhabited land, says Christer Berglund at Vy Tåg's press service. 

There will be no replacement buses, as the bus companies have a lower cold limit for diesel of minus 35 degrees.

Train services will probably be canceled on Wednesday as well.
