Tallink Grupp has today decided not to add a second ship to the Tallinn-Stockholm route in 2022 as originally planned. The route will therefore continue to be operated by the company's ship Baltic Queen and departures from Tallinn and Stockholm will be every other day.

The company's ship Victoria I, which was due to join Baltic Queen on the route from the beginning of June this year, will be laid up in the Port of Tallinn when the ship ends its current service on the Tallinn-Helsinki route on April 21.

”None of the decisions regarding route and timetable changes we have made in recent years have been easy to make as they affect our customers” travel plans. The decision to operate the Tallinn-Stockholm route with only one ship for the rest of this year is one of those difficult decisions. However, after assessing the possibilities of operating the route profitably with two ships under the current circumstances of sharply increased fuel and raw material prices and a changed geopolitical situation, we have arrived at this decision,” says Paavo Nõgene, CEO of Tallink Grupp.

”We will continue to operate the popular Stockholm – Tallinn route with Baltic Queen until further notice and are looking for other opportunities for our ship Victoria I for the rest of 2022. We apologize to all customers affected by the decision and will offer them the opportunity to travel with Baltic Queen or rebook to one of our other routes instead. Baltic Queen’s departures every other day continue to give our customers a great opportunity to visit Tallinn. We can highly recommend spending a couple of nights at our newly renovated and beautiful Tallink City Hotel and thus enjoy Tallinn longer.”

Tallink Grupp will contact all passengers affected by the decision and offer options for rebooking or cancellation.
