This week, Tallink Silja has launched a new pilot project where 12 cabins on board the vessel Silja Serenade have been furnished with products from the well-known Finnish design house Marimekko. Pillows, towels, and tumblers from the popular brand, among other items, will adorn the luxury Commodore class cabins.

The Finnish design house Marimekko is an iconic brand that the shipping company Tallink Silja has collaborated with for a long time, and whose products can be found in almost every Finnish, and also Swedish and Estonian, home. Marimekko is also increasingly popular among travellers from the rest of Europe and even Asia.

The aim of the pilot project is to take the customer experience on board the ships to the next level and provide guests with an even more cosy and elegant experience – a feeling of a luxurious ”home away from home”. Tallink Silja is continuously looking for ways to enhance the onboard experience and partners who can help achieve this.

”We want our customers to feel at home, yet cared for and pampered when they travel with us, and we know that Marimekko's elegant products adorn many of our guests” homes. Based on our long-standing collaboration with the design house, it was an easy choice to enter into a new partnership with Marimekko to take the interiors of our cabins to the next level. We are so pleased to now be able to present the result of this collaboration to our guests," says Piret Mürk-Dubout, member of the Management Board at Tallink Grupp.

The Silja Serenade has a total of 34 Commodore-class cabins, of which 12 have a balcony and 22 do not have a balcony. The cabins are located on decks 10 and 11.

Tallink Silja and Marimekko have collaborated for a number of years. The latest collaboration took place to celebrate Silja Line's 60th anniversary, when a special edition of Silja Line's coffee mug designed by Marimekko was launched. The mugs are still used on board today in the fine dining restaurant Bon Vivant.
