TAP Air Portugal announces the launch of Economy Prime, a new long-haul cabin designed to offer customers more space, more privacy and a superior economy travel experience. Flights with the new Economy Prime cabin will start on June 1, 2026, and this cabin is now available for booking through all TAP channels and travel agencies.
Economy Prime expands TAP's long-haul offering, giving passengers greater choice between Economy and Business, and is available on both the A330 and A321LR fleets.
The new cabin responds to changing travel trends by offering comfort, efficiency and ample space, combined with a seamless customer journey.
The Economy Prime cabin has 12 seats, located directly behind Business Class, arranged in a four-seat per row configuration. By always leaving the seat next to it empty, a quieter and more private environment is created, allowing passengers to enjoy a more relaxed and comfortable experience throughout the flight.
The Economy Prime experience starts before boarding. Passengers have access to premium airport services that make their journey smoother, including Premium Check-in, Priority Baggage Handling, Fast Track Security and Priority Boarding. Together, these elements contribute to a smoother travel experience from start to finish, from arrival at the airport to their final destination.
On board, Economy Prime stands out with its personalized service and carefully selected details that enhance the travel experience. Passengers receive a premium main meal with two hot options, the ability to pre-order their meal up to 24 hours before departure, an amenity kit and a premium pillow. Every detail is designed to provide increased comfort and a higher sense of care.
Economy Prime also offers added value for frequent flyers looking for flexibility and extra benefits. This includes more flexible bonus points and the ability to rebook, as well as improved refund terms, making it an attractive alternative within economy class.
