TAP Air Portugal has once again been named the airline with the world's best stopover program, the accolade presented at the Global Traveler Leisure Lifestyle Awards – for the eighth consecutive year.
The award is based on votes from readers of the travel magazine. Global Traveler and reflects travelers' own experiences and preferences.
TAP's Portugal Stopover program allows travelers to stay in Portugal for up to ten days, at no extra cost on the airfare. The stopover can be done either on the outbound or return journey, giving travelers the chance to discover destinations such as Lisbon, Porto or other parts of the country.
The program also includes benefits such as a 25 percent discount on domestic flights, for example to the Azores or Madeira, as well as discounts at over 150 partners in hotels, restaurants, activities and culture.

The awards ceremony took place on April 20 in Miami and recognizes leading players in the travel industry.
