Irish airline Ryanair increased its passenger numbers by 6 percent in November, compared to the same month last year. Low-cost competitor Wizz Air fared even better, increasing its passenger numbers by 24 percent.

Low-cost airline Ryanair had around 11 million passengers in November, which is an increase of 6 percent compared to the same month last year. 

The previous month, growth was 5 percent. The cabin factor, that is, how well-filled the planes were, amounted to 96 percent, which is in line with both the previous month and the corresponding month last year.

On Tuesday, Hungarian low-cost competitor Wizz Air also announced its passenger figures for November. The number of passengers amounted to almost 3 million, which is an increase of 24 percent compared to November last year. 

In October, growth was 21 percent. The cabin factor landed at 93 percent, which is slightly lower than the 95 percent the company reported the previous month.

On Thursday, Norwegian will release its passenger figures for November, while SAS will wait with the statistics until Friday.
