An American Airlines flight between Tampa and Nashville had to be diverted to Birmingham, Alabama, on Wednesday after encountering severe turbulence over northern Florida.

There were 56 passengers on board the plane. Ten of them were taken to hospital in Birmingham with minor injuries, writes Fox News.
