The Spanish Canary Island of Tenerife has declared a state of emergency ahead of storm Therese, which is expected to hit on Wednesday evening, reports state. Canarian Weekly.
According to local authorities, the storm could bring gusts of wind of up to 28 metres per second and heavy rain.
The decision means that, among other things, roads and national parks will be closed, and it will be prohibited to move along hiking trails.
